Lake Havasu City republican Leo Biasiucci is eager to begin his freshman year at the Arizona state legislature.

The District 5 state representative-elect officially gets started when the legislative session starts Jan. 14 in Phoenix.

“I’m extremely grateful and excited for this opportunity because it’s always been a dream of mine to be able to give back to a community that’s given me so much,” Biasiucci said. “Being born and raised here I couldn’t be more excited to help out this district and really fight for rural Arizona.”

Biasiucci said he believes that he and representative Regina Cobb and senator Sonny Borrelli will form an effective team for legislative district 5 in northwest Arizona.

“We’re going to keep our taxes low. We’re going to fight for less regulation and most importantly, we’re going to do what’s best for our district. That’s number one for all three of us,” he said.

While he expects budget, public safety and education matters to get plenty of attention, Biasiucci also hopes that important water issues get addressed as well.

“Probably one of the biggest things that we deal with this year is making sure that our water is going to be protected,” Biasiucci said. “Bigger cities think they need it more than we do and we need to protect what we have here.”

Biasiucci said he has already established a good dialogue with mayors and members of the Boards of Supervisors and other key constituents in District 5. He said he also wants to keep an open dialogue with business owners and citizens of the district.

Biasiucci said he can be reached by cell phone, 928-600-4483, and by email,
