Three arrests and significant seizures are reported as area law enforcement agencies culminated an investigation of a drug trafficking organization suspected of importing and distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and heroin into Mohave County.

 

Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said detectives seized over nine pounds of methamphetamine, approximately five ounces of heroin, a quarter ounce of marijuana and approximately $4,000 in cash. Fromelt said authorities do not wish to disclose the location of the residence where the Feb. 2 raid occurred due to ongoing investigation.

Javier Mario Escalante, 39, Ontario, CA, was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Narcotic Drugs and Possession of Marijuana. 

Edgar Guadalupe Melgoza, 39 Fresno, CA, was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale and Transportation of Narcotic Drugs.  

Maria May Kormes, 33, Mohave Valley,  was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

They were all booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office, the local MAGNET task force and the GIITEM state gang task force are also involved in the investigation.
