Will fear of public shaming deter others?

KINGMAN – Two Kingman residents face prosecution after they were allegedly caught in the act at an illegal dumpsite on Nov. 2. Detectives with the Mohave County Environmental Rural Area Cleanup Enforcement (ERACE) unit observed a vehicle full of trash in an area known for illegal dumping and a man who was shoveling debris into a wash off the Grace Neal Parkway.

William Griffin, 61, and Pamela Blair, 58, were initially charged with criminal littering, a class 6 felony offense. They might also be charged with illegal dumping pending a case review by the Mohave County Attorney.

A statement from ERACE indicated that Griffin and Blair were required to pick up trash at two illegal dumpsites and take the material to the landfill.

Anyone wanting to report illegal dumping activity can call ERACE directly at 928-715-0480 or Mohave Silent Witness at 1-888-227-8780.
