LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Feb. 26 the Mohave County Sheriff’s Division of Boating Safety, in conjunction with River Medical hosted a “Marine First Responders” medical class in Lake Havasu City.

Several deputies and volunteers learned basic medical procedures to handle trauma-related calls on our waterways. They learned how to properly backboard, c-spine, stop bleeding with tourniquets and other medical supplies, recognize and treat carbon monoxide poisoning, along with several other topics related to injuries that could occur while on the water.

This training prepares members of the Sheriff’s Office for any incident they might encounter.
As always, boat safe, boat smart, boat sober, and wear a life jacket.
