Two Chinese tourists die following crash, five injured


DOLAN SPRINGS – Two tourists from China were killed and five others were hurt in a two vehicle collision about 23 miles north of Kingman.

Information from the Department of Public Safety said the Thursday crash at about 1:35 p.m. occurred at Pierce Ferry Road and U.S. 93.


DPS spokesman Quentin Mehr said the driver of a Toyota van failed to stop at the crossover stop sign and was struck by an oncoming Ford van. The driver of the Ford was treated at the scene.

Mehr said a passenger in the Toyota, Weipei Liang, 61, died following transport to Kingman Regional Medical Center. He said another passenger, Yuchan Peng, 56, died Saturday at a Nevada hospital.

Five other Chinese nationals who suffered serious injuries were hospitalized in Las Vegas.
