SELIGMAN – Interstate 40 motorists traveling between Kingman and Flagstaff will soon encounter detours due to construction activity at Seligman, the halfway point between the two cities.

The Arizona Department of Transportation plans to repair traffic interchange overpasses and a bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks.

“The project includes replacing the damaged elements of the bridges and completing other upgrades to increase the lifespan of the bridges, replacing the deck portions of the three bridges, reconstructing 40 feet of roadway on either side of the bridges and repairing erosion damage,” said ADOT in an email. Construction is scheduled to begin in June and finish roughly by April.

Traffic will be rerouted during when exits are closed. For more information contact Community Relations Project Manager Deborrah Miller at 928-777-5986 or DMiller5@azdot.gov.
