SELIGMAN – Access to Route 66 along Interstate 40 at exit 121 will close Monday for an 11-month, $$4.3 million bridge project.

The Arizona Department of Transportation in an email said three bridge decks, each between 40 and 50 years old, need heavy maintenance.

Seligman’s second exit, 123, will remain open.

Scheduled for completion next May, the work includes replacement of the three decks, replacing guardrails as needed, the reconstruction of 40 feet of road on either side of the bridges, repair eroded embankments, and replace the approach slabs and joints.

Motorists will be able to reach Seligman throughout the construction period, said ADOT.
