KINGMAN – A new director has been appointed to the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District board.

John Bryant was selected from a field of six applicants who submitted letters of interest to serve out the term of Director Patti Lewis, who resigned earlier this year.

“I definitely think Mr. Bryant brings a lot of experience, which I definitely think would make him an asset,” Director Mike Collins said during Tuesday’s special board meeting. Bryant said his professional background includes a mix of involvement in security, investigations and as a chief engineer for high-rise structures in Orange County, California.

The board also selected HR Strategies from a pool of head hunting firms sought to spearhead the recruitment of the next NACFD fire chief.

Tim King is serving as interim chief following the firing of former chief Wayne Eder on May 23.
