Mohave County Republican Party, Colorado River School District learns the hard way that the job is never finished until the paperwork is filed.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Two political action committees in Mohave County are among 30 that the Arizona Secretary of State's Office identified as non-compliant with financial disclosure reporting requirements.

The violations have been referred to the Arizona Attorney General's office for review and possible sanctions, including fines.

The Mohave County Republican Party and a political action committee formed to support the Colorado River Schools bond issue last year failed to submit reports for the last quarter of 2016.

The chairman of the school district committee, Mehdi Azarmi, said the failure was an oversight and that the matter would quickly be rectified.

Mohave County GOP Chairman Larry Schiff also said he moved quickly to bring the organization into compliance and he said he’s been assured that any applicable fine would be waived.

“All papers are in the process of being filed, and all future filings will be done ahead of time,” Schiff said. “Additionally, we have met with staff to make sure all contributions and expenses are logged appropriately.”
