Schwanbeck died Tuesday; he was a father, grandfather

LAS VEGAS – One Mohave County resident is among the scores of people who were shot and killed at Sunday’s massacre at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas.

Lists of the victims are appearing in law enforcement reports, as well as mainstream and social media.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Brett Schwanbeck, 61, died Tuesday after suffering a head wound during the horrific incident when a man rained down sniper fire on concertgoers from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino.

The newspaper reported that Schwanbeck, of Bullhead City, was a retired truck driver who had three children and five grandchildren.

“He liked to be where no one else was at. He liked to get lost out in the middle of the woods,” his son, Shawn Schwanbeck told the newspaper Wednesday. “My dad was the funnest guy in the world to be around.”
