KINGMAN – The city of Kingman is taking applications for the yet-to-be established Airport Advisory Commission.

City officials are working to create the commission and appoint members during the June 5 City Council meeting.

There was considerable discussion of the board’s composition during the Tuesday, May 15 meeting. It was decided that four commission members should either be pilots or aviation business owners within the airport industrial park. The other members can be citizens at large, though there’s a focus on people who have interest, involvement or knowledge of aviation matters.

It was also decided that at least five members should reside within the city limits. Appointment of any more than two non-city resident members would require supermajority Council approval – or 5 of 7.
