KINGMAN - A homegrown education administrator is being offered the superintendent’s position with the Kingman Unified School District (KUSD).

A news release indicated the governing board’s decision to offer Gretchen Dorner the promotion was made during a Dec. 3 workshop.

“The Board action will be finalized at the monthly school board meeting held on Tuesday, December 18,” a news release stated.

Dorner, principal at Lee Williams High School, was one of three finalists for the job. The others were Assistant KUSD superintendent Jeri Wolsey and Tom Meyer, superintendent of the Bellevue School District in Iowa.

Dorner would succeed Roger Jacks who is retiring at the end of next June.
