Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitor Bureau officially adopts new name

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has officially transitioned to its new name, Go Lake Havasu.

“Convention and visitor bureaus across the nation have been transitioning into shorter and more inspiring names,” said Terence Concannon, president/CEO of the Go Lake Havasu tourism bureau. “For us, Go Lake Havasu and made perfect sense. Besides being the name of our website, the word ‘Go’ truly reflects Lake Havasu and the wide range of activities for which we’re known, like boating, fishing, racing, hiking, and off-roading.”

The Lake Havasu City Visitors and Convention Bureau was officially incorporated as non-profit in 1995, and shortly after changed its official name to the Lake Havasu Tourism Bureau, Inc., which remains today and will continue to be the official legal name. However, the bureau has conducted business as the Lake Havasu City Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2003, and now will be referred to as Go Lake Havasu. The bureau contracts with the City of Lake Havasu City to provided destination marketing.

“Go Lake Havasu more closely resembles who we are as a destination, as Arizona’s Playground, we’re fun,” Concannon said.

Although the organization will retain its official legal non-profit name as the Lake Havasu Tourism Bureau, the transition into the new DBA included slight logo changes that have been reflected on official bureau written correspondence, including letterhead and business cards, as well as the vocal identification as Go Lake Havasu.
