KINGMAN – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a male inmate who apparently hanged himself at the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman on Friday.

Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said a detention officer discovered the body of Antonio Miguel Trujillo, 22, of Bullhead City in his jail cell at about 6:25 p.m. Nov. 9.

“The officer called for medical assistance from onsite nurses and then immediately initiated CPR on the inmate,” Carter said. Other lifesaving efforts failed, as well, she said.

Carter said Trujillo could not be revived and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. She said foul play is not suspected and an autopsy is pending.

According to court records, Trujillo had two pending cases. He was charged with trafficking in stolen property in May and with possession of marijuana and narcotics earlier this month.
