Significant time has passed since offenses occurred in Lake Havasu City

KINGMAN – A local judge has imposed jail time rather than a prison sentence for a Lake Havasu City man who sexually abused his friend’s younger sister years ago. Authorities said the girl was 7 to 12 years old when she was victimized by Dillon Papst, 25, who was a teenager at the time.

Papst pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted child molestation. He and his supporters asked for leniency during a Nov. 28 sentencing hearing.

Papst in May was charged with sexual abuse, sexual conduct with a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor and luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

“I’m not a criminal. I am not a predator, but I am a person who has made mistakes,” Papst told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Richard Weiss.

The judge ordered a one year jail term, followed by 10 years probation.
