LAKE HAVASU CITY – A 2-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted by her father in Lake Havasu City is battling for her life at a hospital in Nevada.

Lake Havasu City Police Sgt. Tom Gray said officers responded at 9:40 p.m. Thursday to a report of a child not breathing at a residence in the 2800 block of Appletree Drive.

Gray said the baby was rushed to Havasu Regional Medical Center and then flown to a Las Vegas hospital where she remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Gray said a criminal investigation led to the arrest of the father, Andrew J. Lamorie.

The 21-year-old was arrested for a mix of child abuse, child neglect, aggravated assault and marijuana-related charges. Gray said Lamorie was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman on an initial $1 million bond.

Further details will be published as they become available.
