Man fled law enforcement with girlfriend, toddler in vehicle

BULLHEAD CITY – A man was arrested on several felony charges after crashing an allegedly stolen vehicle and fleeing from police with his girlfriend and a 3-year-old in the car.

The Bullhead City Police Department arrested Andrew Everett Blakley, 20 of Riverside, California, for theft of means of transportation, felony flight from pursuing law enforcement, two counts of endangerment, two counts of criminal damage, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and leaving the scene of an accident.

On Wednesday, April 11 at approximately 1 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office notified the Bullhead City Police Department that they were in an active pursuit of a stolen vehicle and were approaching Bullhead City limits.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office cancelled its pursuit once within Bullhead City limits and Bullhead City Police officers did not continue the pursuit.

Bullhead Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Blakley continued to drive the recklessly northbound on Highway 95.

Fromelt said Blakley ultimately crashed into two vehicles at Highway 95 and Riverview Drive. He then continued to flee and drove the vehicle until it became disabled at Kaibab and Riverview.

Blakley ran into the desert area where a citizen caught and detained him until police arrived.

Fromelt said a small baggie of methamphetamine was found in his sock and a meth pipe was located in his pocket.

Blakley’s girlfriend and her 3-year-old son were passengers inside the stolen car. No one in the accident reported any injuries.
