The Kingman Masonic Lodge No. 22 donated 14 bicycles to children who participated in the 11th Annual Books for Bikes Giveaway on Saturday at Kmart.

Paul Roach, the store’s assistant manager, left, stands with Masons Ken Chism, Richard Prather and Buffalo Hayden, as well as the children who won a bike. Six schools participated in the contest and a boy and girl from each won a bike, with the exception of Black Mountain School in Golden Valley, which awarded a bike to two boys and two girls. The students read books and wrote reports in order to be eligible. The winners were chosen in a random drawing. Prather said Kmart sold the lodge the bikes at a reduced rate, and employees assembled them. The Kingman Shrine Club donated a bike helmet to each of the winning students.
