KINGMAN - Sounds of Kingman along with Mohave Museum of History & Arts and “In Memory of” Karl and Millie Prumers, are most proud to present: Our Time, Our History Series - “Set in Stone but Not in Meaning: Southwestern Indian Rock Art" featuring Allen Dart, Road Scholar.

Kicking off the 2019 series, the museum spotlights a fascinating local phenomenon. Ancient Indian pictographs and petroglyphs are claimed by some to be forms of writing with known meanings.

Mr. Dart discusses how even the same rock art symbol may be interpreted differently from popular, scientific and modern Native American perspectives. The presentation will be at the Mohave Museum of History & Art, 400 W. Beale St. on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
